Pong Teh - The Nyonya Cuisine

Trying to keep this newly learn recipe from Ah-Ma, so that we'll have Nyonya Cuisine continually serve in our family. :)

Oooh.. I'm 25% Nyonya.. Grandmother is pure nyonya but Grandfather is pure Chinese (Came from China). So my dad is 50% Baba & that's why I'm 25% left hehe...

Material:
1. 1 whole Chicken
2. 4 potatoes
3. 10 small union
4. 20 garlics
5. some gula melaka
6. 2 spoon of 'Tau Chu'

Preparation:
A. Potatoes:
1. Cut the potatoes to cube size.
2. Fry the potatoes till golden color.

B. Spices:
1. Clean the union & garlic.
2. Blend the union & garlic separately. (Or use 'lesung')
3. Break the lemon grass so that the head is broken.

C. Chicken:
1. Clean & cut the chicken into pieces.

Cooking:

1. Fry the union & garlic with oil till yellowish.
2. Add in 'Tau Chu' & continue to fry.
3. Put the chicken in & continue to fry till half cooked.
4. Pour in 1 bowl of water & let the chicken fully cooked.
5. Put in gula melaka & potatoes till a bit soften.
7. Ready to eat.... Yummy...
