Pity Le Le is Sick...

ouo.... pity Le Le, fall sick last Saturday till Tuesday. Having fever 37.5 degree celcius, flu & a bit of cough. It is so worrying as H1N1 is spreading so fast in M'sia now...

Le Le only finish 1 oz of breast milk on every feeding. You don't like milk but is fine with plain water pulak. Lucky also, at least you're not de-hydrated.

You were crying when you woke up from sleep, should be due to your body not feeling well as having fever.

During this period of time, you're so manja. Stick to mummy. Even after you're sleeping, you still know mummy walk away & you wake up & cry... You can smell mummy izzit? Clever boy.

Today you've recovered from fever, mummy hope you'll recover from flu & cough very soon my dear...

Here's some photos to show how aggressive you're on bear-bear.. causing the photo so blur as you're moving.. geram sangat with your bear-bear..

First bite the bear-bear hand.. when mummy called you, you looked at mummy 'huh?'.. Then continue with the bite again.. don't care who is calling at all...

Ok, after the photo session, here are some opinion on the usage of Toys in early childhood learning:

1. Educational or learning baby toys are geared toward stimulation of the five senses – sight, sound, and touch in particular. E.g. toy blocks, rubber animal toys, small mirrors, and musical instruments without sharp noises.

2. Another learning aspect toys encourage is playing one on one, whether with a parent or another child, and this can contribute to physical, social, and emotional development.

3. Toy play can encourage imaginative and fantasy play. E.g. a cardboard box. One day the box was a train. Later in the week it morphed into an ocean liner. Children eagerly discover what had happened to the large cardboard box over night. Wonderful interactions took place inside the ever-changing box.

4. Security feeling. E.g. with a soft toys, baby can hug & feel security and be able to sleep on his own.

Even with so many benefit of toys, but we still need to consider the Safety of the toys before giving it to baby.

What to look for:

a) Always follow all manufacturers' age recommendations. Some toys have small parts that can cause choking, so heed all warnings on a toy's packaging.

b) Check to see if the toy meets the series of standards on toy safety developed by Department of Standards Malaysia & Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs.

c) Make sure the toy is unbreakable and has no sharp edges. It should be large enough that it can't be swallowed or lodged in the throat.

d) It shouldn't have any small parts such as eyes, wheels, or buttons that can be pulled loose, and it should be strong enough to withstand chewing.

e) There should be no parts that could become pinch points for small fingers.

f) There shouldn't be strings longer than 7 inches (18 centimeters).

g) Homemade toys should be carefully evaluated. They may not have undergone testing for safety.

SAFETY NOTES: Never give balloons or latex gloves to a child younger than age 8. A child who is blowing up or chewing on a balloon or gloves can choke by inhaling them. Inflated balloons pose a risk because they can pop without warning and be inhaled. In addition, never give your infant vending machine toys, which often contain small parts.

Last but not least, thanks to PhotoBookMalaysia & AliceWonders for the contest prizes..
